“Thank You” To Yearling Buyers

Brittany Farms would like to thank all of its yearling buyers — this year and in years past — for placing your confidence in us and in our ability to breed you a great racehorse. Through all the years, the farm has shown time and again that this confidence was warranted, and we expect that to remain true with our 2024 yearling crop.

The 47 million dollar-plus winners and 30 Breeders Crown champions the farm has bred speaks to the excellence of Brittany-breds on the racetrack. And once that occurs, even greater things fall into place. Some of those horses go on to take their spots in the Hall Of Fame, and many others reward their owners with lucrative careers as chart-topping stallions and broodmares of the future.

That’s why, that even with the farm closing at the end of the year, the success of the horses it has bred will live on for generations — and provide the foundational black-type of many a great yearling catalog page of the future.

The farm’s final yearling consignment was led, as expected, by a top pair of youngsters from the first crop of Brittany-bred 2 and 3-year-old champion Perfect Sting. The colt with a red-hot pedigree, Stingman, led the shedrow with a final bid of $275,000 from Tony Alagna, agent, while the filly Beautiful Memory was purchased by Micki Rae Stables for $250,000.

Brittany’s race sponsorships will continue through the year with the Breeders Crown Championships at the Meadowlands. Elimination heats are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, October 19, with finals slated for October 25 and 26. We hope to see you there!
